Wellness: Thrive Beyond 45

Spring into your healthiest self  on April 7, World Health Day.  It’s  our annual reminder to celebrate the incredible gift of our bodies and minds. This spring, let’s embrace renewal—not with rigid rules, but with joy and intention. Whether you’re savoring morning sunshine or basking in evening sunsets, your health journey is about thriving, not just surviving. Ready for a seasonal glow-up? Let’s refresh from the inside out!

🌿 Your Spring Refresh Toolkit 🌿

  1. Nourish with Color: Swap heavy winter meals for crisp, seasonal bites. Blend a vibrant green smoothie (spinach, mango, almond milk!) or toss a rainbow salad with asparagus, radishes, and avocado. Your body will thank you with energy that matches the spring sun.

  2. Move with Joy: Trade treadmill routines for outdoor adventures! Try sunrise yoga in the park, a brisk wildflower walk, or a dance session to your favorite playlist. Movement isn’t a chore—it’s a celebration of what your body can do.

  3. Pause & Breathe: Carve out 10 minutes daily for stillness. Meditate under a tree, journal gratitude, or sip herbal tea while savoring silence. Mental wellness is the secret sauce to radiant health.

This season, remember: small, intentional steps create lasting vibrancy. You’re evolving, glowing, and owning your power. Here’s to a spring where your health blooms!

True style isn’t dictated by trends or labels—it’s a reflection of your values, confidence, and the stories you carry. At LWYA, we believe style thrives when it’s rooted in self-expression, not status. Our new demi-fine jewelry collection embodies this philosophy: it’s crafted to be worn, loved, and layered into your daily life, not tucked away for “special occasions.”

Kim’s makeup line has been such a blessing to me. I crushed my right hand and have been unable to do so many things but having Kim’s makeup is so easy to use and go on, It has helped me so much I have to say especially her Linebacker Eyeliner! It’s made it almost easy to put on even with my left hand!

Live By Design: Crafting A Life You Love

Faith and fresh beginnings stretch its arms wide, across April skies.  Let’s trade “Live, Laugh, Love” for a mantra that digs deeper: “Believe, Bloom, Become.” Your faith isn’t a static sign on the wall—it’s the living, breathing force that shapes your story. This spring, refresh your mind with truths that outlast trends and anchor your soul in your faith.

🌱 Mindful Faith Refreshers 🌱

  1. Prayer Walks: Swap scrolling for strolling! Walk your neighborhood, thanking God for tiny wonders—a child’s laughter, budding trees, the smell of rain.

  2. Gratitude Journal Upgrade: Add “faith milestones” to your entries. When did God show up unexpectedly? Write it down. Revisit these pages when doubt whispers.

  3. Community Joy: Host a simple “soul care” brunch. Share stories, pray over lattes, and remind each other: we’re designed to thrive together.

Creating your life isn’t  just a visual on a Pinterest board—it’s a sacred journey. This season, let your mind bloom where it’s planted. 🌷

Foodie Flavor Favorites

This recipe is high in flavor, veggies and protein while being low in creation and cleanup. It’s the easy, satisfying, energy meal we need during the busy days of Spring! And it  makes great leftovers. (Reprinted from A Saucy Kitchen).

One Pot Taco Skillet

  • Yield: 5 servings

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • Cook Time: 25 minutes

  • Total Time: 35 minutes

  • Calories: 218

  • Protein: 25g

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 pound ground turkey or chicken, aim for around 7% fat

  • 1 medium sized white onion, chopped, about 1 cup

  • 2 large carrots, chopped into small pieces, about 1 1/2 cups

  • 1 red & green bell pepper, 1 of each

  • 1 red chili pepper, deseeded and chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed or minced

  • 1 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 can crushed or chopped tomatoes, 14 oz can

Optional Toppings

  • 1/2 cup grated cheese

  • spring onions

  • cilantro

Instructions

Warm the olive oil in a large skillet on a medium high heat. Once the oil is warm add the ground meat and begin breaking up the meat into smaller pieces to cook faster.

Once the meat is no longer pink add the onions, carrots, peppers, chili, and garlic. Stir the vegetables into the meat mixture well.

Add the taco seasonings: chilli powder, garlic power, onion powder, oregano, paprika, cumin and salt. Stir well to mix the spices and vegetables together. Stir in the crushed tomatoes.

Cover the pan with a fitted lid and reduce the heat down to a medium-low heat. Let the meat and veggies cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook longer if you prefer softer veggies and for a shorter amount of time if you like your vegetables with more bite.

Uncover the pan and sprinkle shredded or grated cheese over the top of the meat. Cover the pan one more with the lid for another 2-3 minutes to let the cheese melt.

Sprinkle green onions and cilantro over the top of the melted cheese and serve.
