Front Porch: Celebrating mothers

Hi Beautiful,

For all you mothers out there, I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. I know I sure did.

After we went to church, my sister, Allisyn, and her family, plus my mother, came over to my house for a big ole cookout. It was so much fun having that family time. I’m so grateful and blessed that we’re still close and my family is such a big part of my life.

In fact, check out the new fun pics we took of the three of us! Aren’t they adorable?

Did you have any big plans this weekend? If you did, and took pictures, make sure you tag me on Instagram so I can celebrate with you.

Xoxo

Recipe: Golden Potatoes

What good is a cookout without potatoes? Here’s one of our favorite family recipes.

  • 6 Potatoes

  • Butter

  • Paprika

  • Garlic Salt

  • Pepper

  • 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil

Directions:

  • Peel and slick potatoes in round slices.

  • Cover the bottom of a 10-inch iron skillet with a little butter and olive oil.

  • Place the potatoes to cover the bottom of the skillet, drizzle each potato slice with a little butter, sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika and garlic salt over the top the potatoes.

  • Continue layering the potatoes until they are all gone.

  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake ½ to 1 hour at 400 degrees.

  • When done take the foil off and brown the top of the potatoes.

  • After the top is brown, place a service dish on the top of the skillet and invert skillet.

  • Potatoes should be browned on both bottom and top.

Catch up: Dance Your Way to Inner Strength with Allison Holker Boss

Allison Holker’s life was turned upside down after her husband’s tragic death. Hear how she managed to “keep dancing through” the tragedy and find meaning in her next act.

This week Zac and I got dancing lessons from So You Think You Can Dance star, Allison Holker Boss. (Zac definitely needed them.) We get deep with Allison who opened up about dealing with the public loss of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, how she stays positive, and how she’s moving forward with her next chapter, a new children’s book called, "Keep Dancing Through" which is a lyrical and fun book that will teach your kids stress relief, and mindfulness without them even knowing it.

Allison has truly turned her mess into her message and she’s using it to help others. You don’t want to miss this episode of The Kim Gravel Show.
